Thursday Cafe

We partner with All Saints Episcopal Church in Worcester to provide indoor space for spiritual companionship, hot food and community on Thursday afternoons from 12:30-2:30 pm. (Sept-May)

Thursday Cafe provides a place where all feel welcome and where the dignity and welfare of all guests are affirmed.

What is Thursday Cafe?

We’ve celebrated with folks when they’ve been housed. We’ve celebrated periods of clean or sober time, anniversaries of freedom from violence and incarceration, successful treatments and surgeries, reunions with children, and the prospects and realities of finding a job that provides hope for moving from homelessness permanently. Along with providing spiritual companionship, the Cafe space allows us to provide a hot meal, sandwiches, new socks, new underwear, and toiletry items for our guests.  Join us indoors at All Saints Episcopal Church!

How can I help?

Monetary donations to cover our ‘material overhead’ which is the cost of food/liquids/paper supplies, cotton socks and staff salaries.  Material donations for our guests include: new cotton socks, new men’s boxer briefs (all sizes), new women’s underwear (all sizes), gently used adult size seasonal coats, boots, clothing, and new backpacks.  Our guests also need travel size toiletry items: shampoo, conditioner, hand lotion, chap stick, bath soap, deodorant, body lotion, comb, hairbrush, toothbrush, dental floss, non-alcohol mouthwash/toothpaste, band aids and Q-Tip’s. Meals donations for our Thursday Cafe.  We are in need of churches or organizations to provide either a hot meal (main course, salad, fruit salad, rolls and dessert) for 60 guests or bagged lunches for 60 guests.
